Susan Douglas-Scott CBE

Susan Douglas-Scott was appointed as the first Chair of the Board of Directors for ILF Scotland in 2014 and is passionate about independent living and equal citizenship for disabled people. Susan is a disabled woman whose career has focused on disability and equality issues. For the past 12 years, Susan has followed a broad ranging freelance career as a consultant in equalities, health, disability and social care. Susan is also Board Chair of NHS Golden Jubilee, Chair the Board of Trustees of VoiceAbility, a UK advocacy NGO and is a founder of a pastoral and spiritual care organisation, Celebrate People, where she serves as a humanist celebrant. This portfolio follows on from an 18 year career in local authorities and NGOs in the field of disability and health. In 2019 Susan was honoured to receive a CBE from the Queen for her services to disability and equality across Scotland.
