“Our vision is for independent living to be a reality for all disabled people living in Scotland and Northern Ireland.”
ILF Scotland is a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB). Our vision is to make independent living a reality for disabled people in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Here at ILF Scotland we are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Assessor to join our amazing team.
This Assessor role will be home-based in the Greater Belfast area to help make independent living a reality for many in Northern Ireland.
This role is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work in partnership with ILF Scotland recipients and their families and carers, social work services and voluntary sector partners to resolve complex situations surrounding support arrangements and financial matters relating to the ILF Scotland award. You will provide support to ILF recipients, and their families and carers, conducting sensitive and empathetic conversations, and engaging with social care and support partners as appropriate.
As an Assessor you will have responsibility for ensuring that you plan, organise and undertake ILF award assessments and reviews, which maintain a focus on independent living outcomes. This may involve collaborating with various stakeholders to promote ILF Scotland values of Trust, Respect and Dignity, and to achieve positive outcomes with recipients.
We want to hear from you if you are a registered Social Worker or Allied Health Professional who is passionate about supporting independent living, with knowledge of current health and social care legislation, policy and procedures.
You will also have expertise in outcome-focused social care and support assessment, equality and diversity issues, and in self-directed support. Familiarity with person-led planning is a plus, and a commitment to the social model of disability is essential.
If you are an ambitious, creative, solutions focused and purpose-led professional who is driven by the ILF Scotland values of Trust, Respect and Dignity and putting disabled people at the heart of everything you do, then we want to hear from you.
