Carer Support Payments - Stakeholder Events

Post Date: 22 April 2024
Two men are at a park. One man leans down behind the other who is in a wheelchair. They are looking at each other and smiling and laughing. Behind them you see the flowers, a bridge and a pond in the park.

Social Security Scotland are inviting professionals and stakeholders who advise and support individuals to apply for the Carer Support Payment to attend their free online stakeholder information events for the new pilot areas.

Carer Support Payment, which is replacing Carer’s Allowance in Scotland, launched in the pilot areas of Dundee City, Perth & Kinross and the Western Isles on 20 November 2023. Subject to Parliamentary approval, it is now expanding the launch of the benefit to the areas of Angus, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire on the 24 June.

The purpose of these events is to provide key information about the Carer Support Payment to stakeholders who support clients in the new pilot areas before it opens for new applications in those areas. This will include how it will be different from Carer’s Allowance and how the service will be delivered in Scotland by Social Security Scotland.
