LEEP – Newsletter – April 2024

Post Date: 26 April 2024

The Lived Experience Experts Panel (LEEP) has sent out its newsletter for April.

LEEP brings together people from across Scotland to help design the new National Care Service (NCS) , in one of the biggest co-design exercises the Scottish Government has ever undertaken.

The panel allows people over the age of 18, living in Scotland and with direct experience of community health and social care the opportunity to help design these future services.

You can read the letter in Easy Read here.

Dear LEEP Member,

Thank you for being part of the Lived Experience Experts Panel (LEEP) and supporting our co-design work.

This newsletter has details of how you can get involved in new co-design work for the National Care Service (NCS).

We are looking for LEEP members to be part of small co-design groups. The groups will be made up of:

  • people with lived experience
  • stakeholders
  • people who work for the government

These groups will work together over 2 to 3 months to explore how the current system can change and what needs further co-design.

For example, one of the groups will help us design how people with lived experience could be members of the NCS National Board. They will also suggest ways the Board should work. Another will look at how we can design the complaints system for the NCS

Complete this survey if you want to take part in a co-design group to work on either the design of the NCS National Board or the complaints system.

If you need some help to complete the survey or would like it in a different format, please contact us using the information at the end of this newsletter.

We will make sure that the co-design groups represent a broad range of people with different experiences. Each group will be made up of around 8 to 12 people.

Once we have identified people with a broad range of experiences, we will contact LEEP members to invite them to become part of the co-design group which best fits their experience. When we do this, we will also provide more information on what will be involved in these co-design sessions.

We may not be able to include everybody who responds in one of the co-design groups. However, there will be other ways to get involved with co-designing the NCS board and the complaints system. We will contact people who do not get added to the co-design groups to ask for their help with this work.
