Jan Savage
Board Director
Jan Savage is the Executive Director of the Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC), where she leads the organisation’s work as the public body tasked with promoting and protecting human rights across Scotland.
Jan has worked in the public and voluntary sector for 24 years in pursuit of social justice with and for disabled people and other groups of people whose rights are at risk.
She has previously served for 6 years as the Chair of the Scottish Government’s Additional Support for Learning Implementation Group, was Vice Chair of Glasgow Caledonian University Students Association for a full 6 year term, and a Trustee of the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities.
She brings extensive senior leadership experience spanning human rights, equality, and public policy, with a strong focus on accountability and lived experience.
