In September 2023, the First Minister announced in his Programme for Government that the Independent Living Fund will re-open on a phased basis, with an initial £9 million in 2024-25 to enable up to 1,000 additional disabled people with the most complex needs to access the support they need and deserve to live independent lives.
We have established a co-production working group to help us develop the policies for a re-opened ILF. This Group will make recommendations on re-opening to the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, and will ensure the involvement of disabled people and other key stakeholders in the co-production process.
To help shape the development of re-opening the Independent Living Fund, we are hosting a series of co-production events. This event takes place at the Glasgow Science Centre in Glasgow on Monday 19 February, 2024.
Book your place via Eventbrite.
You can also call to book your place and speak to us on our general enquiry line 0300 200 2022 or you can email Geraldine Higgins at Geraldine.Higgins@ilf.scot
Lunch will be provided and we will cover the cost of reasonable travel and PA support. We will share details of how to claim on the day. If, however, you need support to book your travel, please let us know.
Please let us know if there is any other support that we can provide to ensure the event is fully accessible for you. We will also let everyone attending know more details about what will happen on the day, including the policy areas that will be discussed, and the questions we will ask so that you can think about these in advance.
