ILF Scotland recipient, Jim Elderwoodward, has recently written an article for The Herald about social care and the importance of independent living for disabled people.
In the article, Jim urges that social care should be made a national entitlement and that there are lessons to be learned from the way that ILF Scotland operates for disabled people.
Jim discusses his own views on social care and self-directed support and states that disabled people should be trusted to make decisions for themselves, as well as having more flexibility in their lives without having to worry about their social care support.
