The Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, Maree Todd MSP, is seeking to appoint a Chair and two members to the Independent Living Fund (ILF Scotland) Board.
As a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) of the Scottish Government, ILF Scotland distributes annual funding of approximately £60m to support individual recipients in Scotland and Northern Ireland to lead independent lives. The organisation consists of a staff team of around 66, who provide award management services for approximately 5,000 current fund recipients split between the 2015 Fund and Transition Fund.
Current Chair of the Board, Susan Douglas-Scott, CBE, who is standing down after 8 years with ILF Scotland, says: “I have been with ILF Scotland since its inception in 2015 and throughout my tenure I have seen it grow into the dynamic and vibrant organisation we see today.
“It is so satisfying to have led an organisation that does so much with disabled people, helping them to live independent lives on their own terms, and with a team passionate about independent living.
“I will look back on my time at ILF Scotland with pride and know that I’ve been part of something special. I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of applying for these board roles to do so.”
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant board as they provide strategic direction and good governance for ILF Scotland. You will be interested in these board roles if you have a commitment to the independent living movement, especially if you have lived or recent experience of disability. People from all walks of life are encouraged to apply for these roles.
