Florence Garabedian- Interim CEO of the Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCiL)

With a background in education, health, and social care, Florence dedicated her professional life contributing to a new paradigm in these fields. Her strong belief lies in making a difference by supporting the self-empowerment of individuals and communities to create positive change and live fulfilled lives.

Committed to the Independent Living Movement (ILM), CEO of the Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCiL) for 14 years, as well as co-founder and Chair of Self-Directed Support Scotland (SDSS) she left these organisations at the end of March 2021 to focus more on leadership coaching and organisations development.

Most relevant to our event, in 2014, Florence worked very closely with other DPOs to enable disabled people to have a say on the future of the former UK ILF in Scotland. From Oct. 2014 to July 2015, following the Government’s decision to transfer the funds to a new independent entity, Florence  co-chaired, with the Scottish Government Head of Division, the Independent Living Fund Project Board that delivered the creation of ILF-Scotland.

Today and as it often happens, life asked her to reconnect with LCiL and she currently is their Interim CEO until a new permanent leader is appointed.
