Winter Heating Payment has replaced Cold Weather Payment in Scotland.
It is an automatic, reliable payment of £50 paid each year by the Scottish Government agency Social Security Scotland. Payments will be made over the course of February and March.
Winter Heating Payment is not triggered by the weather and there is no need to apply.
If you're eligible you will receive a letter to let you know that you are getting a payment.
Social Security Scotland says it will be supporting around 400,000 people through Winter Heating Payments, with more than £20 million being paid out over the course of February and March.
