ILF Scotland Transition Fund hits 16000 application high.

Over 16000 young people have applied to the ILF Scotland Transition Fund across Scotland since inception.

For the past seven years, young disabled individuals in Scotland have been able to access vital support through the ILF Scotland Transition Fund. The fund has provided over £21 million in assistance, empowering thousands during the critical phase of transitioning into adulthood.

Launched in December 2017, the Transition Fund has significantly impacted the lives of many by fostering independence and promoting community involvement. By enabling access to new hobbies, enhancing social and practical skills, and building confidence for employment, the fund has created opportunities that were previously out of reach for many young people.

Open to disabled people in Scotland aged 16 to 25, the Transition Fund supports those with a variety of conditions and impairments as defined by the Equalities Scotland Act.

Iain Wilson, SDS Manager for the Transition Fund at, ILF Scotland, reflected on the Transition Fund’s success, celebrating its significant impact on young disabled individuals across Scotland.

“This is a tremendous achievement,” he shared. “The support we provide helps young disabled people navigate the change from school and childhood to adult life and all that that entails. The support we can provide can make that huge step just a little easier for the young people we support and put them on the path to a successful adult life.
