Personal experiences of self-directed support during Covid-19.

Post Date: 6 August 2020

We are delighted that the Chair of our ILF Scotland Recipient Advisory Group, Dr Jim Elder-Woodward OBE has written a blog about his experiences of social care during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Born with cerebral palsy, Jim Elder-Woodward has had life-long experience of disability, not only as a health and social service user, but also as a service provider, planner and researcher. He controls his own 24/7 personal support package.

In this piece, Jim talks about his life before the pandemic, the struggles he has faced throughout this time and what he thinks his ‘new normal’ will look like.
