Care experience is not something that stays in the past. It can shape someone's confidence, relationships, opportunities and experiences throughout their life.

That is why we want all current and future colleagues to know that ILF Scotland is committed to being a supportive, understanding and inclusive employer. Care Experienced Week is an important opportunity to highlight this commitment, but it is something we focus on all year round.

To any member of staff with care experience, we want you to know that you matter. Your experiences are valued, and you belong at ILF Scotland. The skills, insight and resilience you bring help make ILF Scotland a better place to work for everyone.

Our commitment to care experienced people also extends to how we recruit and attract new talent.

Care Experienced Guaranteed Interview Scheme

Our Guaranteed Interview Scheme helps make sure care experienced people have a fair opportunity to access employment.

If you identify as care experienced and meet the essential criteria for a role, as outlined in the job description, you will be guaranteed an interview.

The scheme reflects our commitment as a Corporate Parent and aligns closely with our organisational values of fairness, inclusion, and opportunity. We know that care experienced people can face additional barriers when applying for jobs, and we want to help remove some of those barriers. The scheme is one of the ways we demonstrate our dedication to creating a more inclusive and accessible workplace.

We strongly encourage care experienced people to apply for opportunities with ILF Scotland and use our Guaranteed Interview Scheme if they are eligible.

We are committed to understanding the challenges that care experienced people may have faced and helping create opportunities for them to succeed in their careers.

This Care Experienced Week, we also encourage other employers to consider introducing a Guaranteed Interview Scheme. It is a meaningful way to create a more inclusive workplace and help talented people access opportunities.
