Thembelani from Edinburgh applied to the Transition Fund to help him achieve his aspirations of becoming a great DJ, and improve his photography skills to feel included in his community.
The money he received allowed him to purchase a new laptop, DJ decks, headphones and other DJ equipment.
“Receiving money from the Transition Fund meant I had the chance to develop my skills as a DJ, something I have always dreamed of and wouldn’t have been able to without the help from ILF Scotland.”
Studying at Stevenson College, in Edinburgh, Thembelani has been honing his skills in photography and was also able to use his money from the Transition Fund to buy a brand-new camera.
“For anyone considering applying for the Transition Fund, I would tell them to have a clear goal for what they want to achieve, what equipment they require and how much it is going to cost.”
