The Unites Nations’ International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD) is celebrated every year on the 3rd of December. This year, the theme for the day, “Fighting For Rights in a Post-COVID Era”, should be used to recognise that disabled people are among the most affected population amid the COVID pandemic.
To mark IDPWD 2021, we are excited to launch ILF Scotland’s very first podcast where journalist and campaigner Lucy Webster and Chair of the Board Susan Douglas-Scott are joined by Nic Reid and Michaela Hollywood to discuss championing rights and levelling the playing field for disabled people.
They go into detail about the leadership and participation of disabled people towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world and speak in depth about their own experiences and look at how this could be a critical moment in shaping the future.
