Joanne aged 39 from Co Antrim has received ILF for over 20 years.
Joanne has Hypo-Melanosis of ITO, narrowing of the pulmonary artery along with other health complications.
Joanne uses her funding to pay for a Personal Assistant, and this enables her to live a very sociable independent life.
Camilla, Joanne’s mother, discovered ILF when she was caring full time for Joanne and found herself having to care for Joanne’s father when he was sick. And she believes the funding from ILF Scotland has changed her life and the family’s life for the better,
“The ILF made me realise what Joanne needed and every single day she tells me she is happy.
“She looks forward to going to her recreational activities and going out.
“It has made such a big change to her social life.”
Joannes brother Tom said,
“Our family realised that there are people out there who want to help and can help and now Joanne can live an independent full life as ILF gave her that.”
