Your local authority will submit an application online to ILF Scotland. When we receive this, we will check that it has all the required information we need and that it meets the Access Principles for the Coming Home Fund.
If we need more information, we will get in touch with your local authority.
All applications will be assessed by ILF Scotland on a case-by-case basis. If your application does not meet the Access Principles for the Coming Home Fund, we will notify your local authority, who will contact you to advise you of the decision.
If the application contains all of the required information and meets the Access Principles, we will contact the local authority representative who made the application to arrange an Assessment Visit. This will be undertaken by an ILF Assessor who will ask the local authority and / or another relevant practitioner to be present at that visit.
At the visit we will discuss the ILF Scotland funding requested and who would manage these funds. Our ILF Assessor can provide information on support available to help manage ILF Scotland funding.
After the Assessment Visit, we will decide whether funding can be offered. Individuals or their representatives can ask to see a copy of our Assessment Visit report.
If the application is successful, we will send the individual or their representative identified to manage the award on their behalf, an offer letter, an Agreement Form and a copy of the Your Responsibilities Guide to help manage the funding agreed. We cannot make any payments until the completed Agreement Form has been returned to us.
If the application is unsuccessful or if the individual, their representative, or other involved party, is unhappy with any aspect of the funding decision made by ILF Scotland following the assessment visit, they can request a review of that decision in line with our published policy.
