What our Young Ambassadors say . . .

Andrew Batchelor holding a Try Something New prop.

Andrew says: “ILF Scotland and its Transition Fund has helped change my life, helping me get my own studio to do my work is something I benefit from every single day and I am so grateful for the help I’ve received! Being a Young Ambassador is an honour and it is great to connect with other amazing young people throughout Scotland and hear their own journeys. For young people with disabilities who want to try something new – get involved and apply!”

Cait Kotska with a cake

Cait says: "Being a part of the Young Ambassadors' group has helped me to express myself more, improve my communication, and help others.

"Being a recipient of The Transition Fund has changed my life. I'm now into four years having my own business. I'm enjoying all I bake for my customers, it puts a big smile on my face and makes me happy.

"All the Team at ILF are so caring and will help you prepare filling in the Form for Transition Fund. If you have an idea of what you want help with, get in touch with ILF Transition Fund, chase your dreams, it will change your life."

Charlene says: "Being a Young Ambassador is great. We have virtual meetings and attend events on behalf of ILF. It is definitely worth getting involved in as who knows what opportunities can be offered to you?"

Ryan Cuzen holding a #TrySomethignNew sign

Ryan says: "Becoming a Young Ambassador was a crucial step and allowed me to give something back while continuing to build on the skills I had. I always feel listened to as a young disabled person as the Transition Fund has evolved.

"It’s given me the chance to meet fellow recipients of the Transition Fund. Seeing and hearing about how the Fund is helping my fellow Young Ambassadors is always great. You understand more around how it helps change people’s lives from a diverse group of young disabled people ... not to mention allowing me the opportunity to have a voice presenting at events, giving feedback. With my fellow Young Ambassadors, we can see what’s working well and input to what could work even better ...."
